Following the match, Whittaker faced accusations of getting too close to Cameron’s corner and spitting at his opponent’s coaches. He addressed these allegations in a post-fight interview with Sky Sports.

“It was purely emotion, I was just fired up and yelling, ‘Come on!’” Whittaker explained. “If a little spit came out… he knows I would never intentionally do something like that.”

Video footage appears to be inconclusive and does not provide definitive proof of Whittaker spitting at Cameron’s corner.

Whittaker, a silver medalist in boxing at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, has become a prominent rising star in professional boxing since 2022, known for his entertaining and unconventional fighting style.
