Anthony Yarde and Frank Warren Reconcile, Set for Lyndon Arthur Trilogy Bout

Light heavyweight boxer Anthony Yarde and Queensberry promoter Frank Warren have apparently resolved their contractual disagreement, as evidenced by their cordial exchange during a recent event.

Their professional partnership seemed to be in jeopardy last June when Yarde, with a record of 26-3 (24 KOs), declared himself a free agent on social media. Warren, however, maintained that the 33-year-old fighter was still under contract with Queensberry, despite Yarde’s participation in a rival promotion four months later.

After an eight-month hiatus, the former world title contender competed in a Boxxer event last October, securing a decisive points victory over Ralfs Vilcans. Recently, it was announced that Yarde will face Lyndon Arthur in a highly anticipated trilogy match on April 26, featured on the undercard of the Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn bout.

The two light heavyweights first clashed in 2020, with Arthur, 24-2 (16 KOs), narrowly winning by split decision. Yarde, who was dealing with personal tragedies at the time, delivered a subpar performance. However, in their rematch the following year, Yarde demonstrated his prowess with a decisive fourth-round knockout victory.

Regardless of the upcoming fight’s outcome, Warren has expressed his intention to bring Yarde back to the Queensberry fold later this year. During a recent interview, with both men present at Derek Chisora’s match against Otto Wallin in Manchester, Yarde acknowledged Warren’s role as a mentor, stating, “He’s been a father figure to me, and we will always be on good terms.” Warren reciprocated by suggesting that Yarde would likely appear in a Queensberry event in the near future.
