Allen Weighs Up Parker Challenge vs. British Title Ambitions

Dave Allen recently scored a significant knockout victory over Johnny Fisher, a result that has fueled speculation about a potential fight against Joseph Parker. However, Allen has now stated that he doesn`t believe he can defeat the former world champion from New Zealand.

Allen, whose record stands at 24-7-2 with 19 knockouts, had previously faced Fisher in Riyadh in December, losing a controversial split decision. That initial outcome prompted strong calls for a rematch with `The Romford Bull`.

The pair met again five weeks ago, and this time the bout concluded far more definitively, with Allen securing a knockout win in the fifth round.

In the period since his victory, Allen has signed a promotional deal with Matchroom Boxing. The 33-year-old heavyweight has been linked to potentially lucrative offers to face high-profile fighters like Joseph Parker and Deontay Wilder.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Allen admitted his reservations about beating Parker but affirmed that he would accept the fight for a substantial sum and give it his absolute best effort.

“Do I think I can beat Joseph Parker? If I was to be completely open and honest, no, not really. I have a puncher`s chance with anybody, but am I better than Joseph Parker? No.”

“Could I win one in every 100 fights against him? If I hit him, I would like to think so. Would I box him for a million pound? F***ing right I would. I would take my 99 to 1 chance for a million quid.”

Setting financial considerations aside, Allen revealed that the fight he is genuinely hoping for is an opportunity to challenge Jeamie Tshikeva (8-2, 5 KOs) for the British heavyweight title. This title may soon become vacant, depending on the outcome of David Adeleye`s scheduled fight against Filip Hrgovic.

“I`m hoping to box [Jeamie] TKV for the British title, I think that TKV is a good fighter, you know.”

“A lot of people are saying to me that it`s an easy British title fight but I don`t think it is. He must have had 60 to 80 amateur fights, a bit of international experience. He has beat the best in Britain numerous times.”

“I`ve watched him for a long time, I watch all of them [British rivals], he is a good fighter but stylistically I think that he is a good match for me, but I think that it is a big step up from Johnny Fisher.”

Allen reiterated that turning down Parker would be difficult “if mad money gets involved.” However, it appears `The White Rhino` intends to wait and see if the BBBofC (British Boxing Board of Control) decides to strip Adeleye of the title before making his final decision on his next opponent.

The Yorkshireman also indicated that he expects his return to the ring to take place in September, whether that potential opponent is Parker, TKV, or another heavyweight contender.
