Bantamweight prospect Adam Maca has officially joined Matchroom Boxing. The highly-rated 17-year-old amateur is set to make his professional debut on June 14 at Madison Square Garden. He will compete on the undercard headlined by Richardson Hitchins` IBF super-lightweight title defense against George Kambosos.

Maca, now residing in Brighton, previously represented his birth country, Albania, during a successful amateur career. His achievements include securing Junior European titles and winning five National Championships.

His signing follows closely after heavyweight Leo Atang was also announced as a new addition to the Matchroom roster.

Reflecting on his decision, Maca stated, “I was part of the Albanian Olympic team. I had the option to wait for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, but that wasn’t my desired path. Becoming a professional boxer has been my ambition since childhood. I am now pursuing that dream.”

Regarding his fighting style, he added, “I believe my approach is well-suited for professional boxing. I don’t just aim to score points or win decisions; I come to deliver an exciting performance. Fans are going to thoroughly enjoy watching me compete.”

Maca also acknowledged the support he received: “My journey has involved significant sacrifices from my parents and family. They frequently took time off work to support my aspirations, traveling with me globally for National, European, and World Championships.”

Promoter Eddie Hearn commented on his new signing: “Adam demonstrates explosive power for someone his age and possesses all the qualities that make a fighter a fan favourite. He consistently aims to put on a great show and deliver spectacular knockouts whenever he enters the ring.”
