Aaron Pico has officially joined the UFC and is determined to reach the pinnacle of the sport.

After spending his entire professional career with Bellator, Pico signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC earlier this month. In a recent interview, Pico mentioned that the UFC had shown interest in him much earlier in his career.

“The UFC also made an offer back then, but I wasn`t aware of it, so I ended up signing with Bellator,” Pico explained. “I am grateful for my time with Bellator, where I learned and grew, but now I`m here in the UFC after eight years. This is where the real work begins. I`m not here just to participate; I want to win the championship belt.”

Pico, a highly regarded prospect with a background in wrestling and boxing, transitioned to MMA in 2017. During his time in Bellator, he built a record of 13-4 and became recognized as a top featherweight contender. His focus is now firmly on achieving UFC gold.

“I am extremely competitive and believe I can compete at the highest level in the UFC. I want to prove that there`s a whole new level of fighting,” Pico stated. “My goal is the UFC belt. I want to make my mark in history.”

Reflecting on Bellator champion Patricio Pitbull, Pico acknowledged his achievements but emphasized the significance of the UFC title. “Patricio is a legend with numerous title defenses in Bellator, but ultimately, the UFC belt carries a different weight and prestige.”

While initial rumors suggested a fight against Movsar Evloev, Pico is currently awaiting his UFC debut opponent. He is eager to make a strong statement in his first fight and quickly move towards a title shot.

“I set a goal about eight or nine months ago to become UFC champion by 2026,” Pico revealed. “I truly believe I can achieve this. If I get the right fights and perform as I know I can… Give me a top contender, and if I secure a dominant win, why not go straight for the title?”
